Their committee has a lot of great fun stuff planned so make sure anything about our centennial catches your eye in the next two years. If every member of the Los Angeles Section gave $3 they would more than cover their individual donations goal, so it doesn't take much. By the way - did you see that US News and World Report said that Civil Engineers have one of the best jobs of 2012 and that they see significant job growth over the next decade. Amidst all the ASCE info (I recently had a member remind me of the photo below from the December 2008 newsletter) that gets sent your way along with all the other companies and groups vying for your attention via your inbox, I wanted to make sure some of these happenings and events didn't slip by you. We often get asked what the benefits are to being a member of the ASCE and all of the above are good reasons to be a part of the ASCE. We get ALOT of data, emails and flyers all trying to keep you informed about the society's activities. There are regions, sections, branches, YMFs, Key Contacts, SmartBrief, institutes, etc, just to name a few. There are some many different divisions, departments, groups, and initiatives with the ASCE that it can get confusing if you don't live and breath the ASCE like some of us do. In addition I want to tell you about some changes that are coming up with our luncheons. I thought I would take this month to bring it all together into one place and point out where to find out about upcoming events both at the branch level, the section level, and society wide.
